Skill Transfer: Classroom to Workplace
Reading
Participants
will practice most of the reading strategies
on their own current (or future) reading
projects.
Writing
Participants
will actually proofread, edit and format
their own current (or future) writing
assignments.
Thinking
Participants will define and create
multiple solutions to their own current
(or future) work-related challenges.
In addition,
we will provide a variety of flexible
“strategy modules” to help each participant
immediately apply their new skills
when they return to their job.
|
|
Ninety percent of classroom training
fails to transfer back to the workplace.
WHY?
Classroom
training occurs in a controlled and
safe learning environment. When
seminar participants return to their
place of work - they may sincerely want
to apply their new skills - but their
work environment is often rushed and
chaotic. Feeling the pressure
to complete their assignments, they
delay applying their new skills and
resort to their old (and "comfortable")
skills.
Our “strategy modules”
are short, realistic techniques that
can be quickly integrated into an individual’s
preferred method of operation (i.e.
comfort zone). The immediate (and
successful) application of these strategies
will also raise the confidence level
of each employee; confident employees
learn faster, take the initiative and
embrace change.

Goal-Oriented
Learning Approach
Reading
We will show your employees how to create
specific reading goals to ensure they
quickly collect the pertinent information
they need.
Writing
We will show your employees
how to develop and communicate their
message to ensure their readers take
notice…and take action.
Thinking
We will show your employees
how to determine priorities when reading,
writing, and problem solving - and how
to manage those priorities effectively.
|
|
Goal-oriented learners
excel in all areas due to their strong
focus and desire for self-improvement.
Because they create learning goals for
each task, they naturally seek the most
efficient path toward reaching their
overall goal (and completing each individual
task).
But our seminars do more
than just show your employees how to
set a goal and stay on course.
Our learning strategies are extremely
flexible and allow for multi-tasking.
Employees usually must focus on several
goals each day, so we teach strategies
that will show them how to organize
their projects to ensure a seamless
transition from one project to the next.

Learning & Thinking Style
Focus
Reading
We will show your employees
how to use their preferred learning
& thinking style to efficiently organize
reading assignments & decipher complex
information - even if outside their
field of expertise.
Writing
We will show
your employees how to create documents
that appeal directly to their
intended readers.
Thinking
We will show your employees how to use
their preferred learning & thinking
style to take advantage of their cognitive
strengths while minimizing any learning
deficiencies. In addition, we
show managers how to recognize and utilize
the learning and thinking strengths
of their team members.
|
|
When employees
use their preferred learning and thinking
style to gather and process new information,
they are using their natural aptitude.
When a process feels natural, it is
always easier to implement. As you know,
employees don't avoid the easy tasks;
they avoid starting complex or undesirable
tasks.
For some
employees, however, attending a seminar
may feel like an undesirable task.
But when our past participants used
their preferred learning and thinking
style to apply our strategies, the process
felt more like a common sense extension
of what they already know - which makes
it more likely they will apply our
learning strategies long after the seminar
ends.

Work-Related Seminar Activities
Reading
Participants
will practice the majority of the reading
strategies on their own current (or
future) reading assignments.
Writing
Participants
will use our strategies to proofread,
edit, and format their own current (or
future) writing projects.
Thinking
Participants will define and create
multiple solutions to their own current
(or future) work-related challenges.
|
|
It is known that new information should
be applied immediately after it is learned
(for excellent comprehension and retention).
By using
their own work materials to practice
our learning strategies, employees not
only will improve their comprehension
and retention, they will instantly
realize the true benefit of the strategies
- an important step to ensure they continue
using their new skills long after the
seminar ends.
Of course, another benefit
of this approach is that your employees
will actually complete many of their
work-related assignments while attending
the seminar.

day session)
●

It can be
difficult to remain focused during a
full-day seminar, particularly if you
are constantly thinking about all the
work that is piling up on your desk;
not to mention the challenge of retaining
everything you see and hear.
Our
4-hour seminar provides a "get the
information, go back to work and apply
it" format. In just 4 hours
your employees will leave with a strong
understanding of their personal learning
and thinking style, and all the strategies
necessary to develop their new skills
on the job.
If you would
prefer to have your employees return
to work with their new skills firmly
in place, the longer formats will
ensure they have complete command of
the seminar strategies by the end of
the seminar.

Not everyone works 9 - 5, and not everyone can afford to spend time in a
classroom while their clients, co-workers, etc. need their assistance during
normal business hours. Therefore, we have created an open scheduling
policy to accommodate your training needs.
There is
not an additional charge for the evening
and weekend time slots.

All-Inclusive
Seminar
Rates
●
Flat Rates - Up to 35 participants per
session
●
Direct Billing with no hidden costs
● Rates
can be
customized
to match your budget
|
|
All-inclusive
flat rates certainly minimize paperwork
on your end. But they also produce
significant savings when you have more
than 10 employees attend one of our seminars.
For example, an 8-hour seminar with 10 participants is $270 per person, but
35 attendees would
reduce your cost to less than $78 per person.

TL Strategies Binder
A Spiral
Binder Containing:
●
All the learning strategies covered
in the seminar
● Step-by-step
instructions to implement strategies
● Color-coded
reference to quickly find strategies
● Multiple templates for applying the strategies
|
|
This binder will not only keep each
participant focused during the seminar,
it will serve as a valuable resource
for applying the learning strategies
long after the seminar ends.
The availability
of the binder at the beginning of the
seminar also helps reduce any learning
anxiety some participants may feel
when starting a work-related seminar.
After all, adults who performed poorly
in school may still feel insecure about
their learning abilities - and if an
employee believes (right or wrong) that
their employer is evaluating how well
they retain the seminar information,
their learning anxiety will intensify
(which will minimize their learning
capability).

TL Advisor
Program
(following
the seminar)
●
6 months of online access to the seminar instructor
● Participants
receive unlimited follow-up help
|
|
This is another
stress reducer for the learner.
Usually a seminar participant must conceive
and ask his or her questions during
the actual seminar to take advantage
of the instructor's knowledge. This
can place a lot of pressure on the participants
- which can cloud the thinking process.
How many times have you thought of questions
after a seminar ended?
The TL
Advisor Program will not only allow
them to remain focused during the seminar,
it will allow participants to ask how
to apply our various strategies for
new (or unexpected) learning situations
- months after the seminar is completed.
